My computer is still giving me a black screen of death. Help?
Every time you turn, that says something like: "This file has been damaged or removed. Please put in the setup disc and press "R" for help "or something. I can not find the disk configuration is asking for. What should I do?
Is this XP? It sounds as though it must boot the computer with the Windows XP disk. Once that can run the Recovery Console and review of the files that are damaged. If you can not find the XP disc, you can use one from a friend. It need not be yours to run the Recovery Console. If you decide that you need to reinstall XP (not likely unless all else fails), make sure you have a product code by hand!
