Dell, which had previously engaged in direct sales has dropped this model because of declining sales. Its agreement with the posh retailer John Lewis to sell the laptop XPS Adamo is an attempt to exploit high-end market for Christmas.
Computer manufacturer Dell has signed agreement with John Lewis, chain stores sell only top of the range laptops ultra-thin XPS Adamo. John Lewis expects a real assault for Christmas for the laptop XPS Adamo. It would also sell portable Dell Studio 15 and Inspiron models in Great Britain.
The agreement between Dell and John Lewis came a big surprise to the market, although the former has undertaken such dealings with retailers Tesco and DSGi.
It comes as Dell, who was previously engaged in direct sales has dropped this model because of declining sales. Agreements with retailers are a way of promoting its products both more freely and increase sales. Its agreement with the posh retailer John Lewis, for the computer Adamo Portable high-end XPS attempt is evident to achieve a more exclusive UK market.
The XPS Adamo is a thick notebook 9.9 mm, easily thinnest notebook in the world. Costing around £ 1750, it has an Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor, which can operate at 1.4 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB Storage SSD. The Dell product has a HD 13.4-inch WLED screen, Bluetooth, a two megapixel camera and more. Dell also offers Windows 7 Home with the laptop.
At 90 days of broadband and software support are provided free.
