You turn on your PC, it will, by mail, but stops there. Your operating system refuses to load. You try to load in "any way Safe "and once again comes to a grinding halt. You have loads of important data on your computer: personal files, priceless photographs digital and all sorts of other things stored in your My Documents folder. You certainly do not want to lose it all, but if you can get your operating system to load, how are you going to save them all?

I describe the procedure for recovering from this problem in another of my blogs. See the link below. But first he must save the data on your system, or at least, save all your files important to your "My Documents". To do this you will need another hard drive with Windows XP installed. This could be an alternative, or you have a friend in May. Or another computer running XP, again, a second PC at home or a friend with someone who is willing to help. You will also need a re-writable CD or a flash drive or other device big enough to store all your files.
Note: This will not work if your hard drive has failed!

If you have a spare hard drive with Windows XP installed:

Turn off your computer and remove the power cord from the outlet. Remove the side cover to access your hard drive. Something metallic Touch grounding yourself and release the "static", you May You must now change the jumper settings on the drive currently in your machine. You may have to remove it from your machine if room is tight. If your machine has a newer type of IDE cable with a black and a gray connector, set the jumper on your hard disk to "Cable Select". Then plug the in the gray (slave) connector. On your spare hard drive, also set the jumper to "Cable Select" and plug it into the (master black) connector. Make sure both drives have a power connector plugged in. white with a cable type where most all IDE connectors are gray, configure your original drive as "slave" and the spare drive to 'Master'.

It is not necessary aptitude both physical disks in your computer, they can simply sit on the side if your cables are long enough. However, they should not be in contact with metals or internal components. For this part, I usually rest one on an empty DVD and another DVD case Sandwich between two hard drives. If you are careful, they should balance on the corner of your machine. Or let it rest on a ledger or similar.

Okay, so with everything that affects your hard drive and secure and isolated, it is time to connect your PC back and fire up. You must enter set-up now so watch the screen and be ready. You'll need to press F2 or Delete or look similar, the correct key to press on the screen. If you miss, you must restart your computer and try again. Once in the Set-Up, Look for the menu to Automatically Detect hard drives, This menu is usually in first or second. Auto Press "detect" for both drives master and slave. Once that was done together Exit-up do not forget to choose "Save and Exit '. Your computer restarts.

You have another computer running Windows XP:

If you have access to another computer, you must remove your hard drive and hook it up to the second computer. The procedure is the same as you ensuring that your hard drive is "Slave" and one that is already in the second computer is the 'Master'. Again, remember configure in this set-up.

When you restart your PC, it will load the operating system drive master as usual. Once you reach the desktop screen, go to "My Computer" and verify that two drives are listed. The master disk is generally "C" and the slave disk could be 'FE' or '. Double-click on the slave drive (disk drive) and you now Access all your data. If the player does not open, or if there is a red exclamation "or" no-entry 'sign. Make Right click it and choose "Properties" from the menu. The next screen, click on the "Share" above. Despite protests from Windows, choose to enable sharing. You'll now be able to access your drive.

Now, you can copy all your important files against your "My Documents". Depending on what you choose to register, you can copy a CD or flash drive. Or if the spare wheel or Master drive you use is large enough, create a new file and copy your entire hard disk in this file. Once your files are stored on another drive or media, turn off the computer and reverse the development process. Remember to reset any changes you made to the cable and jumper settings and run set-up again to re-configure your machine for a single drive. Otherwise, he could see the slave drive missing as an error and refuse to start. Then, install your hard drive back into your own PC and read my blog to know how to fix your "operating system not loading "issue.
